NEW YORK, April 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Spodek Law Group P.C., divorce lawyers with three locations in New York City, have just created an easy-to-use online formula that will help litigants to determine how much spousal support and/or child support they will be entitled to, or have to pay in a divorce.
As Todd Spodek, managing attorney for the divorce attorneys noted, while The New York State Maintenance & Child Support Calculator will not take into consideration any specific factors of a divorce case, it will help determine what a matrimonial judge in New York State would potentially award to the less moneyed spouse in maintenance or child support.

The timing for the new online formula could not be better; on October 25, 2015, Governor Andrew Cuomo signed into law a bill that established new maintenance procedures. And in 2010, New York became the last state to pass a no-fault divorce law and do away with the need for one spouse to be held responsible for the dissolution of the marriage.
"In addition to the inclusion of the no fault divorce, guidelines and formulas were created to assist Judges in ordering temporary (prior to the judgment of divorce) maintenance awards," Spodek said.
