Doctor.com and Connect Healthcare Announce Merger to Deliver the Only Complete Solution to Power the Digital Patient Journey
For the first time, healthcare organizations can manage provider data, search, online listings, patient feedback analysis, reputation monitoring, transparency, and online scheduling -- all from one unified platform
NEW YORK, Dec. 13, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Doctor.com and Connect Healthcare announced today that they have completed a merger transaction, consolidating operations and integrating solutions under the Doctor.com brand. The merger builds on a strong partnership the two companies established in 2015, working together to build seamless data management and directory solutions for shared enterprise clients.
"This merger serves Doctor.com's mission of enabling a more modern and efficient healthcare experience for all stakeholders," said Andrei Zimiles, CEO of Doctor.com. "By fully integrating our capabilities under one roof, we are able to give our clients the most effective solution in the industry to manage their online presence, engage patients across the digital ecosystem, and monitor how these efforts improve their reputation and performance."
As part of the merger, Noel Coleman, President of Connect Healthcare, will join Doctor.com as President of Enterprise Solutions. Connect Healthcare's experienced team of client success specialists, SEO and data analytics experts, and full-stack engineers will be joined by Doctor.com's enterprise sales and product development team. The Enterprise team will continue to operate out of their headquarters in Atlanta, GA and is expected to grow substantially in the months ahead.
Noel Coleman, President of Connect Healthcare, adds, "The integration of Doctor.com's pioneering reputation management and universal scheduling solutions with Connect Healthcare's proven data warehousing and provider directory tools creates the first end-to-end patient experience solution, challenging the multi-vendor status quo that many organizations struggle with. By joining forces, we can help our clients tackle some of the greatest challenges when endeavoring to improve the customer experience across the patient journey."
Connect Healthcare is a leading provider of data management, provider search, reputation and performance improvement solutions for hospitals and large health systems. Connect Healthcare's proprietary platform stores the data of 1.2 million providers and powers directory solutions for 7.5 million unique users. Connect Healthcare is partner to over 200 hospital and health plan clients including UNC Health Care, UC San Diego Health, Brigham & Women's Hospital, Rush University Medical Center, UAB Medicine and Emory University.
"Connect Healthcare has been a partner in helping to assure that visitors to Rush University's website have the most up to date information available about physicians and other providers. More recently, Rush worked with Connect Healthcare to publish patient feedback on our website, giving visitors greater access to opinions about the physicians and advanced practice nurses at Rush University Medical Center. Rush was only the fifth hospital in the country to provide this level of public transparency about its providers," said Francis Fullam, Senior Director, Marketing Research at Rush University Medical Center.
Adrienne Steading, Director of Marketing and Digital Strategy at UAB Medicine said, "Working with Connect Healthcare allowed us to improve our online presence and showcase the quality of our providers in a way that drives greater online visibility and helps patients make informed decisions. One of our goals was to provide further transparency to our patients — and this relationship made us the first healthcare organization in Alabama, and one of the first in the nation, to launch ratings and reviews on our website."
The merger was supported by Doctor.com's existing investors, led by Spring Mountain Capital. Raymond Wong, Managing Director of Spring Mountain Capital says, "The success of each company can be attributed to a profound understanding of the complexities of healthcare data systems as well as the consumer web. Through this merger, Doctor.com is able to provide clients with the first truly holistic offering in a market plagued by fragmented point solutions."
Other participating investors include Colle Capital, who has supported Doctor.com since 2014, and StartUp Health, who Doctor.com has worked closely with since joining their Moonshot Academy in 2013.
