Newly raised funds allows Company to further accelerate brand growth and retail expansion
LOS ANGELES, June 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- DÔEN, the beloved California lifestyle brand known for its feminine silhouettes, commitment to impact environmental responsibility, and women-first ethos, today announced the closing of its Series A funding round, led by growth equity firm Silas Capital. The investment marks a significant milestone for the brand as it accelerates retail expansion, enhances infrastructure, and deepens its connection with a growing global customer base. Before this round, DÔEN had raised only ~$1 million in outside capital and has organically built a $100M+ revenue business.
The brand, founded by California-born sisters, Margaret and Katherine Kleveland, launched in 2016 as a digitally native fashion brand with a first collection offering women's dresses, knits and tops, footwear, and childrenswear. Since then, the brand has evolved into a full lifestyle brand having introduced categories including outerwear, denim, swim, tees, sleep & loungewear, delicates, and a home capsule. The brand first launched with wholesale partner Net-a-Porter in 2019 followed by domestic partnerships with Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom. DÔEN continues to scale internationally, with placements in Le Bon Marché (France), Harrods (UK), Holt Renfrew (Canada), SKP (China), Ounass (UAE), Tom Greyhound (South Korea), Bongénie (Switzerland), and over 150 specialty stores globally.
DÔEN currently operates seven brick-and-mortar locations, including recent openings in Marin, CA and Nantucket, MA, with retail sales in aggregate growing 80% year-over-year while comp store sales are up 46%, including 65% growth at its Bleecker Street location in New York alone. Overall, the business continues to thrive with 40% YoY growth in e-commerce and wholesale bookings up 110% YTD.
"This has been a long time in the making, as our top priority was finding a partner who aligns with our values and long-term vision for growing DÔEN," said Margaret Kleveland, Co-Founder and CEO of DÔEN. "Silas Capital has a strong track record of supporting authentic, organic community building and helping their portfolio companies scale in thoughtful, sustainable ways. We couldn't be more excited for what's ahead for DÔEN."
The brand has earned industry recognition as Private Fashion Company of the Year by Women's Wear Daily (2024) and the Moss Adams Fashion Innovator Award by Sourcing Journal (2024), largely in recognition of their Impact efforts anchored in the brand's 2030 Roadmap laying out their approach to business and impact. The brand has maintained long-term philanthropic partnerships with Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, Room to Read, and Kindred Space LA / Birthing People Foundation.
The capital infusion will allow DÔEN to expand the brand's physical retail footprint into key markets, implement enhanced business systems and operational infrastructure, and deepen investments in marketing to drive awareness and customer loyalty.
"DÔEN is truly an exceptional brand – seamlessly blending its timeless appeal with product that offers both sophistication and practicality," said Brian Thorne, Partner at Silas Capital. "We see tremendous potential to help grow their deeply loyal community by amplifying e-commerce momentum and further scaling the highly productive retail footprint. We are thrilled to partner with Margaret and Katherine at such a pivotal moment in their journey."
DÔEN's approach to community building and emotional storytelling has led to standout collaborations with brands and creatives including a two installment collaboration with Gap, Reformation, K. Jacques, RMS Beauty, and Library Science, Kaia Gerber and Alyssa Reeder's book club. With a team of 160 employees and a recently expanded headquarters in Van Nuys, California, the brand is well-positioned for this next phase of growth.
