Dole Joins Let's Move California! Event For Day Of Family Activities Promoting Healthier Lifestyle
Dole Food Company Providing Healthy Snacks During Los Angeles Event to Support Launch of Initiative to Solve Childhood Obesity
LOS ANGELES, June 14, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dole is a proud sponsor of Let's Move California!: Fitness Feria, a free community event designed to engage children and educate parents about nutrition, exercise, health and resources for a healthier lifestyle. Dole will be providing fresh fruit to all attendees, as well as healthy snacks such as DOLE Fruit Bowls® all natural fruit in 100% juice and DOLE Real Fruit Bites®, made with fruit, yogurt and whole grain oats. Let's Move California!: Fitness Feria will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Robert F. Kennedy Schools located at 701 South Catalina Street, in Los Angeles.
Dole has been involved with the national Let's Move! initiative through donating salad bars to school campuses, funding teaching gardens and supplying award-winning nutrition education materials to schools across the country.

The event, led by FAME Assistance Corporation in partnership with Advancing America Foundation (AAF), will benefit children and families by providing education on how to improve overall health with a physically active lifestyle and healthier diet. The event will feature numerous celebrity chefs, free medical screenings, cooking demonstrations and nutrition information. Children will participate in more than 40 sports and fitness activities including baseball, soccer, dance, gymnastics, cheer, volleyball, wrestling, rugby, track and field, among others.
