TULSA, Okla., April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. (NYSE: DTG) today announced that after opening 23 U.S. and Canada franchise locations in 2011, it has opened an additional seven U.S. locations in the first quarter of 2012. Additionally, the Company continued to expand internationally and added 17 franchise locations abroad in the first quarter of 2012. These 2012 international locations follow 61 franchise location openings in 2011.

The 2012 U.S. openings include three dual-branded, in-terminal airport locations in Midland, Texas, Montgomery, Ala. and Fort Wayne, Ind. The Company also added one local market Dollar location in Palmdale, Calif.
Dollar Thrifty continues to grow its franchise presence internationally in its four regions abroad: Europe and Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA), Caribbean, Mexico and Latin America (CMLA), Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Asia/Pacific (AP). The 2012 openings include two dual-branded locations in its ESSA region, one in South Africa and one in Norway. In the CMLA region, the Company added six franchise locations, including three Dollar locations in Honduras, two Thrifty locations in Ecuador and one Thrifty location in Brazil. In the AP region, Dollar Thrifty added four Thrifty locations, including two in Australia and two in New Zealand. Finally, the Company expanded its MENA region with the addition of three Dollar franchise locations in Morocco.
