Dongfeng Aeolus Storms out of China to Explore the World
HUOERGUOSIKOUAN, China, June 11 /PRNewswire-Asia/ -- After an 8-day-long 5000km expedition, Dongfeng Aeolus completed its journey through China in the afternoon of May 22nd as it continued to fulfill its mission to "Explore the World". Upon reaching Horgos Port, on the China-Kazakhstan border, it boldly marched forward into Kazakhstan.

Starting from Shanghai on May 15th, the host city for Expo 2010, Dongfeng Aeolus' expedition to "Explore the World" travelled through Silk Capital Suzhou, the Pearl of Taihu Lake Wuxi, Dragon City Changzhou, as well as Nanjing - the ancient capital of six Chinese dynasties, Hefei - the hometown of Baozheng, a fair and noble judge from the Song Dynasty, Nanyang - a city full of talents, Xi'an - the top ancient capital in China, Lanzhou - an important city on the Silk Road, Jiayuguan Great Wall - crowned as the "No.1 Defense Wall in the world", Hami - a key city in Western Regions, Urumchi - China's west bridgehead of the new Eurasian Continental Bridge, Sailimu Lake - boasting picturesque natural scenery, Fruit Valley - the "Iron Pass" of China, and Horgo - the new Northern Silk Road.
During the 5,000km journey throughout China, the supporting vehicles of the "Explore the World" expedition, namely Dongfeng Aeolus S30 and Dongfeng Aeolus H30, have met and conquered the rough challenges of extreme temperatures and high altitude operations. They also managed to climb beyond the 3,500km high Qilian Mountain, pierce the blinding sands of Xingxing Valley, cut through the turbulent winds of Daban City, traverse "China's Dead Sea," the Xinjiang Salt Lake and Turpan, which is the lowest, hottest and driest place in China. They even faced fierce blizzards and sandstorms, fully displaying the reliability and durability of the whole vehicle and their components.
During the farewell ceremony held in Horgos Port, Li Chunrong, Vice President of Dongfeng Passenger Vehicle Company offered the team of explorers words of encouragement to drive forward without fear. With Dongfeng and its promise of quality as their backbone, the team will be assured a story of success and triumph.
Throughout the "Explore the World" expedition, the team received many warm welcomes from a great deal of supporters, including 9 Dongfeng Aeolus dealerships, 160 media outlets, 177 journalists, car owners, future customers and auto fans. As the team departs China from Xinjiang, it will continue its journey to 23 countries and regions in Europe, Africa, Oceania, and South and North America, with a trip mileage totaling upwards of 50,000km.
Before its debut on the market, Dongfeng Aeolus S30 and H30 had already passed the trial of a 3.12-million-kilometer test drive. Carrying on their shoulders the dreams of 1.3 billion Chinese people and 130,000 Dongfeng employees, they are about to compose a challenging heroic epic, which is a testament to how far China's auto industry has come as well as a demonstration of the excellent quality of Chinese vehicles.
