DonorsChoose.org Announces Second Annual Partnership With Burlington Stores, Providing Students And Teachers With The Supplies Needed For An Excellent Education
NEW YORK, May 2, 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- To help alleviate the out-of-pocket expenses public school teachers spend each year on school supplies, and to ensure that children in every community have the tools needed for an excellent education, Burlington Stores, a national off-price retailer, has teamed up with DonorsChoose.org for a second consecutive year. The campaign launched in all Burlington stores yesterday, just in time to celebrate National Teacher Appreciation Week. This in-store campaign runs now through June 11th. Customers can donate $1 or more at checkout at any Burlington location and once they do, they have helped to support public school teachers and their students.
DonorsChoose.org is an online national non-profit organization that makes it easy for anyone to help students in need. U.S. public school teachers use the crowdfunding platform to request resources for a classroom project. Project needs range from basic supplies like pencils, markers, and paper, to more substantial requests like lab equipment, books, musical instruments and technology. Once a project reaches its funding goal, DonorsChoose.org sends the materials to the school.
