DPC DATA Launches MuniGUARD® Monitor With Comprehensive, Searchable Muni Information And Email Alerts
MIAMI BEACH, Fla., March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Municipal Bond Summit -- DPC DATA today announced the release of MuniGUARD Monitor, its latest product offering for municipal bond professionals. MuniGUARD Monitor is designed primarily with asset managers and portfolio managers in mind, and it delivers all new regulatory filings and up-to-the-moment media news specifically relevant to their individual municipal bond holdings. MuniGUARD Monitor is delivered via a user-configurable Web interface and is intended to be the portfolio manager's constant companion by reporting all information specifically at the CUSIP*®-9 level. It comes with a configurable email alert capability as well.
MuniGUARD Monitor provides ready access to critical disclosure information and media news not only by CUSIP®, but also by other convenient means. Users have the option of tracking all new information developments by issuer or, obligor. It homogenizes essential municipal disclosure information that DPC DATA thoroughly scrubs and indexes, along with current, related media news stories from more than 500 domestic news organizations redistributed by DPC DATA's MuniGUARD News under license.
DPC DATA's current line of municipal securities disclosure and news products are the preferred tools used by municipal dealer firms across the nation because they help solve some of the industry's most vexing regulatory issues pertaining to 'disclosure at the point of sale.' MuniGUARD Monitor now leverages this actively managed, virtually complete and incredibly rich market-wide content and offers it as a 'push' service to asset and portfolio managers.
"Unlike other 'push' services available to municipal securities portfolio managers, MuniGUARD Monitor content is delivered on a convenient and ergonomically tested disclosure and news dashboard that each user can customize to suit his or her preferences," said John Carroll, DPC DATA's Senior VP for Product Management. "In case a user would like to receive separate email notifications about new filings and news stories that are relevant to a particular portfolio's contents, a user-configurable email alert feature is already built in."
MuniGUARD Monitor is designed to work the way municipal bond professionals do. Customers can manage multiple municipal securities portfolios from the MuniGUARD Monitor dashboard, and each portfolio can be tailored to the customer's particular disclosure and news information needs. For example, a pure holdings portfolio based on CUSIP-9s can be set up to intensely track all new information flows contemporaneously, while a tracking portfolio based on obligors or bond market sectors can be configured for less frequent updates. The user also decides on a portfolio-by-portfolio basis how much archived disclosure filing and news information it wants to keep accessible on the dashboard. In all cases, hyperlinks to every official statement, continuing disclosure document, financial statement, document amendment, material event notice – and news story – pertinent to each specific portfolio line item are built in.
In addition to asset managers, registered investment advisors, mutual funds, banks, P&C companies, and other institutional municipal market professionals, MuniGUARD Monitor also appeals to sell-side municipal bond investment bankers and credit analysts who need to stay on top of all disclosure developments in broad swaths of the market without having to query separate databases for critical information components.
"MuniGUARD Monitor ushers in a new era of municipal bond disclosure combined with up-to-the-moment media news as a dynamic service similar to the best-in-class products that are available in other securities asset classes," said Peter J. Schmitt, Chairman and CEO of DPC DATA. "The last eight months of beta testing with dealer and asset management firms have helped us tune and refine this product to meet the disclosure and news needs of the municipal bond market's extremely demanding professionals. We are pleased once again to be the first to offer such a comprehensive, configurable, and user-friendly product to the municipal securities market."
Attendees at the Municipal Bond Summit in Miami Beach are invited to drop by Booth 3 to try out the dashboard and see what MuniGUARD Monitor can do.
