ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla., June 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Al Sears M.D., the world renowned anti-aging medical doctor and fitness expert who shocked the fitness world with his PACE 12-Minute Fitness Revolution, is opening the first-ever PACE Fitness Center in Greenacres, Fla. on Thursday, July 21. The center, PACE Fitness Center by Avis, is located at Barclay Square Shopping Plaza, 2960 Jog Road, Greenacres, FL 33467. The public is invited to the center's free grand opening event on July 21 from 6-9 p.m.

In his 2006 book PACE: Rediscover Your Native Fitness (2nd edition published in 2010 as PACE: The 12-Minute Fitness Revolution), Dr. Sears revealed the dangers of aerobics, "cardio," and long-distance running. Now for the first time, guests will have the opportunity to experience the PACE (Progressively Accelerating Cardiopulmonary Exertion) 12-Minute Fitness Revolution firsthand with PACE trainers at Dr. Sears' one-of-a-kind fitness center.

PACE's concept consists of short bursts of intense exercise followed by periods of rest.
