Dr. Richard King Launches Practice at The Oaks Healthcare

HUMBLE, Texas, Aug. 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. David Bush, owner of The Oaks Healthcare, announced that Dr. Richard King is launching his own practice at the center. A chiropractor with extensive experience in multiple fields, King has worked on the international stage, volunteering his services in Haiti and the Dominican Republic through Mission life International.

"After receiving my Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science, I worked as an exercise specialist," said King. "That experience showed me that I needed to do more to help people maintain their health."

Originally from Tacoma, WA, he began his career in exercise science, studying at the prestigious Brigham Young University. While attending college, he volunteered at the Utah State Hospital and as a physical therapy aide at a sports clinic, actions that would send his career path in a completely different direction.

Through his volunteer work and multiple internships, King served a wide variety of patients and developed a keen interest in chiropractic. He enrolled in the University of Western States (formerly Western States Chiropractic College).

It was while King was completing his chiropractic education that he volunteered with Mission Life International, a non-profit organization providing humanitarian aid for people in impoverished countries. He assisted in building homes, schools and orphanages in both countries and provided chiropractic care.

"It was through my experiences there that I realized the power and miracle that is chiropractic and what it can do for people in need," said King.

He passed the National Board of Chiropractic Examinations, the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examinations, and is licensed by the state of Texas. "I'm excited to be serving the people in Humble, Atascocita and Kingwood communities and I'm looking forward to serving your needs."

King has been married to his wife, Carol, for nine years and they have two sons. A man of many talents, his hobbies include biking, hiking, running and swimming. He's an accomplished dancer who enjoys ballroom, Latin, hip-hop, ballet and swing.
