The partnership will further expand Dr. Gupta's signature style of reporting to a global audience of healthcare professionals and consumers. Dr. Gupta will work with the Everyday Health editorial team to produce articles, video segments and two daily newsfeeds. His content will be primarily split between EverydayHealth.com, the company's flagship site for consumers, and its site targeting healthcare professionals, MedPage Today. Everyday Health will also launch corresponding mobile applications later this year.
MedPage Today will be the exclusive home of The Gupta Guide, a daily digest of the news doctors need every day. Through his collaboration with the Everyday Health editorial staff, and supplemented by its coverage of more than 120 medical conferences each year, Dr. Gupta will curate and share key medical news with the physician community.
"This partnership marks a watershed moment for Everyday Health," stated Ben Wolin, CEO and Founder of Everyday Health. "Dr. Gupta, a major force in health and medical news, will leverage Everyday Health's more than 40-person editorial staff which covers all aspects of health and medical news for both medical professionals and consumers. This partnership illustrates the power of a digitally born media company to attract the top talent in the health and medical category."
Through his ongoing role at CNN and his reports on CBS News "60 Minutes," Dr. Gupta has also become the most trusted voice on health issues in America today. Dr. Gupta is an esteemed neurosurgeon, an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Emory University School of Medicine and associate chief of the neurosurgery service at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.
"I am excited to join the talented team at Everyday Health," said Dr. Sanjay Gupta. "Working with Everyday Health, the largest medical news gathering organization in the world, together, we will be an invaluable resource to a global audience in need of real time medical information."
"This partnership is nothing short of an honor," said Mike Keriakos, Co-Founder and President. "Having Dr. Gupta join our team validates the strength of our news organization as we look to build on the type of reporting that garnered us a Gerald Loeb Award for excellence in journalism. With this in mind, we look forward to expanding into other media to ensure consumers and physicians have the most meaningful medical news available."
