ITHACA, N.Y., Jan. 24, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Dr. Scott Noren, from Ithaca, New York will be announcing his candidacy for U.S. Senate against Senator Kirsten Gillibrand for the 6 year term in 2012. There will be a press conference regarding his candidacy on Tuesday, January 25th, 2011 at 10:00 a.m.. This will be held at Ithaca Town Hall in the large meeting room.
Dr. Noren will be discussing factors affecting the economy that mainstream politics has not adequately tackled, such as NAFTA and other trade agreements. He will also comment on proposed upstate gas drilling or hydro-fracturing in the Marcellus Shale deposits and other issues. Dr. Noren feels that the unexpired tax cuts to the richest of Americans put us further in the hole regarding the deficit, despite a Democratically controlled Congress at the time. He will comment on his position on that as well.
Dr. Noren, an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon is from Ithaca, NY, has been a health care provider for nearly two decades and served the U.S. Army for six years until 2003. He grew up in the Chicago area, and through military and educational training has lived in very diverse communities. He has a wife and four children, three of which reside at home including one of his children with special needs.
Dr. Noren is focusing especially on the economy, health care issues, military mindset and how to steer the economy in the right direction and get back on track. Dr. Noren is also very focused on reforming the Democratic Party away from Corporate Democracy and passing legislation barring corporations being allowed to be treated like 'people'.
