DraftKings Announces $1Million Grand Prize Winner For Daily Fantasy Sports Football Picks

BOSTON, Dec. 24, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- DraftKings, Inc. today announced that James Tran from Los Angeles was the winner of its $1Million grand prize for its Fantasy Football Millionaire final, the top prize in a $3.1M prize pool available to daily fantasy football contestants. Alan Zeidenfeld, also from Los Angeles, was the runner-up, winning $350,000. The two were the top contestants out of thousands of players nationwide who took part in the competition. The win was determined by last night's NFL game when the San Francisco 49ers beat the Atlanta Falcons 34-24. An epic battle, Tran ultimately won by less than one point.

Tran, an actuary for a reinsurance company, is a married father of two who loves to dance in his free time. He started playing daily fantasy sports three years ago. With his winnings, he plans to pay off his mortgage, take a vacation and give to charity.
