Dragon Jade Announces the Appointment of Dr. Richard J. Ko as Medical Advisor

HONG KONG, March 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ - Dragon Jade International Limited (OTC:DGJI) is very pleased to announce that Dr. Richard J. Ko has been appointed as a Medical Advisor to the Board of Directors for the Company.

Dr. Ko will serve in a medical advisory role to the Company as the Company provides clinical research consulting services to dietary supplement and herbal product manufacturers who plan to submit their new treatments to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or drug regulatory authorities of other countries for approval, and to achieve legal sale status of their products.

Dr. Ko's areas of specialization include Pharmacokinetics, Drug Metabolism, Analytical Chemistry (High Performance Liquid Chromatography and Gas Chromatography) in pharmaceutical and herbal products, and global regulatory requirements on dietary supplements, herbal products and drugs with special emphasis of the United States, China and European Union requirements.

Dr. Ko has been a Registered Pharmacist in California and Nevada since 1986.  Dr. Ko also served as Clinical In-Patient Pharmacist of Estelle Doheny Eye Hospital in Los Angeles from 1986 to 1991.  He also served as Research Scientist IV (Food and Drug Scientist) and Commission Officer of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration of the State of California from 1991 to 2007.  Dr. Ko, in addition, served as Clinical In-Patient Pharmacist of Sutter Memorial Hospital in Sacramento from 1991 to 1992 and as Clinical In-Patient Pharmacist of Vencor Hospital-Sacramento in Folsom from 1993 to 1994.

Prior to joining the Company, Dr. Ko served as Chair of the United States Pharmacopeia Beta-Alanine Expert Panel from 2011 to 2012.  Prior to that, he served as a Member of the United States Pharmacopeia, Dietary Supplements - Information Expert Committee from 2005 to 2010.  He also served as a Commission Officer of U.S. Food and Drug Administration from 1991 to 2007 and as a Commission Officer of U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission from 2002 to 2007.  He is currently a Member of the United States Pharmacopeia, Monographs - Dietary Supplements Expert Committee, a Member of the United States Pharmacopeia Metal Impurities Expert Panel and a Member of the Advisory Board of the United States Pharmacopeia Dietary Supplements Compendium.

Dr. Ko graduated with a bachelor's degree in A.B. Biochemistry from the University of California, Berkeley in 1982, a bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy of University of Southern California in 1986, and a Ph.D. from the School of Pharmacy of University of Southern California in 1991.  Dr. Ko is the author of many scientific publications and has received several prestigious scholarships and awards, including the USC Faculty Scholarship Award, the USC Graduate Student Fellowship Award, and the Superior Achievement Award of Department of Health Services of California.
