CHICAGO, April 28, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Friday, May 2 community leaders from Chicago and New York City will gather at the Four Seasons Hotel to honor one of autism's most prominent researchers, Catherine Lord, Ph.D. As a founder of Chicago area nonprofit Have Dreams, Dr. Lord has led the development of the diagnostics used in early identification of children with autism. She is the author of more than 160 peer-reviewed papers and nine books on the subject.
The evening will feature cocktails and a sumptuous dinner followed by our spectacular Dreams of a Lifetime Auction. A few of the amazing live auction items will include a New York City Fashion Week package, tickets to the American Music Awards and after party in Los Angeles, a Napa Valley hot air balloon and winery tour, right off the ice seats to the Blackhawks game and a chance to meet National Anthem singer Jim Cornelison over dinner beforehand, and tickets to Night of Too Many Stars and the celebrity-studded after party at the Museum of Natural History in NYC.
NBC5 political reporter Mary Ann Ahern will emcee the 2014 Night of Dreams gala. The funds raised will support Have Dreams' mission of serving children, teens and young adults with autism through individualized after-school classes, vocational, life skills and transition to employment programs, along with diagnostic and family support services.
