DETROIT, Dec. 12, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Driving for America (DFA), a premier, Veterans focused, truck driving school, acquired CDI Truck Driving School located in Saginaw, Michigan on November 19, 2013. The acquisition expands DFA's network to the Saginaw/Flint area and will reach more Michigan Veterans with the opportunity to prepare for their Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
"We are excited to take this step forward in our high growth plan. Our primary objective is to train Veterans and all interested students for placement with great companies," said Gregory Humes, CEO of Driving for America. "First, we are establishing locations throughout Michigan where many transportation companies have their home offices. We then plan to expand nationally and offer placement services for many other logistics staffing needs."
DFA began the search to acquire truck driving schools throughout Michigan by identifying the most densely populated areas of returning service members and Veterans. Then, potential truck driving schools were identified. CDI Truck Driving School was chosen out of many possible schools in the Saginaw/Flint area. Due to their long-term growth, high quality training and commitment to continue to be involved in the operations, CDI was a perfect fit with DFA.
Beth Fletcher-Patterson, owner of CDI Truck Driving School said of the announcement, "Our relationship with Driving for America represents a continuance of solid growth and expansion for which we have always strived. I couldn't be happier with the acquisition and am looking forward to being a part of a team that shares a common goal for providing a lifetime of opportunities in the logistics industry, and one that is dedicated to qualified commercial driver training with continued driver improvement."
