TEL AVIV, Israel, July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
drupe, An App That Is Re-inventing The Way People Communicate On Their Smart Phones, Closes a $3M Funding Round, While Doubling Its Active User Base and Triggering Over 25 Million Interactions Every Month
drupe mobile, the company behind the app that lets users intuitively interact with any of their contacts with one simple swipe, is officially announcing that it has raised $3 million in funding from Canaan Partners Israel and Sweet Capital, founded by the founders of King Digital Entertainment (Candy Crush).
The drupe app, launched initially in 2015, has also seen tremendous growth, doubling its active user base every month in the last quarter. The app was well adopted by millions of users in the Android community, and has seen an exceptional rating of 4.6/5 stars in Google Play.
While more than 60 percent of time spent on our phones is used to interact with people, contacting our friends via various apps is still far from being intuitive. That is where drupe comes in. The people-centric app works as an overlay layer focused on the user's contacts, rather than apps. This allows users to simply "drag and drupe (drop)" contacts with one swipe in order to communicate efficiently.
drupe is essentially the natural evolution of mobile communications. Want to call a friend? Drag their contact to the phone app. Want to navigate to your parents? Drag their contact to the navigation app. The same can be done with WhatsApp, text messages, calendar invites, social networks, video calls and many more. The app also analyzes usage and predicts with whom users would like to communicate in order to build and continuously keep their contact list relevant.
Since its launch in 2015, the drupe team unveiled numerous new developments. The app now acts as a personal assistant, learning the user's behavior and offering smart suggestions before and after communications. drupe has also expanded its unique one-swipe interactions approach, now offering the ability to swipe with payments, reminders and notes.

Izhar Shay, Managing General Partner at Canaan Partners Israel: "We are proud to join the drupe team in their mission to dramatically revolutionize the way mobile users interact with their smartphones. drupe has the potential to make the usage of smartphones way more productive and enjoyable for billions of mobile users around the world."
Barak Witkowski, Co-founder and CEO of drupe: "We at drupe are all about simplifying the mobile experience. Our goal is to make communication as swift, efficient, and intuitive as possible. The feedback and ranking we have received from our millions of users confirms that drupe provides priceless functionality.
