	•	High Flying DC Advocacy/Lobbying Firm Hit with $15.5MM Fraud & Breach Case

	•	Case filed by former partner charges Steven McBee and McBee Strategic, LLC (currently President and CEO of NRG Home) and McBee Strategic Partner Eric Bovim – now owned by Wiley-Rein, LLC - engaged in Fraud to Push Out Partner and gain "Unjust Enrichment"

WHO:	Plaintiff: Thomas J. Pernice, former McBee Partner, President and CEO of Modena Holding Corp, a California Corporation and also a Plaintiff; co-founder of Gibraltar Associates, LLC.

	Defendants: Eric Bovim, Partner, McBee Strategic, Steven McBee and McBee Strategic Consulting, LLC.

	Plaintiff is a former partner of McBee and co-founder of Gibraltar Associates, LLC, and prior to McBee was a senior official in two White Houses, the US Department of Energy and is a highly respected executive and entrepreneur from Los Angeles, CA.

	Defendant Bovim is former co-founder of Gibraltar Associates, LLC which was sold to McBee Strategic, LLC in January of 2013. Bovim is currently Managing Director of the combined firm McBee Strategic and Gibraltar, which was subsequently sold in December of 2014 to the law firm Wiley-Rein, LLP and is the new "parent" company to McBee Strategic.

	Defendant McBee left his firm after the sale in December and after announcing he was being named to the newly created position of President and CEO of NRG Home, a New York Stock Exchange listed company.

WHY:	Plaintiff is seeking monetary relief arising from fraudulently induced transfer of assets of Plaintiff's former company, Gibraltar Associates, LLC, a leading public relations firm formerly based in Washington, DC and Los Angeles to the lobbying and consulting practice of McBee Strategic, LLC in January of 2013, now owned by parent company Wiley-Rein, LLC. Others counts in the federal suit include; breach of contract, fraud, civil conspiracy and unjust enrichment.
