COLUMBIA, Mo., Sept. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Columbia College is pleased to announce that EA Sports will support the President's Inauguration Video Game Challenge. The challenge, part of Dr. Scott Dalrymple's Oct. 17 inauguration festivities, will now feature Madden NFL 15, which is the newest installment in EA Sports' iconic football game series, instead of Madden NFL 25. EA Sports also will provide copies of Madden NFL 15 for the college to use at the challenge.
"I would like to thank the folks at EA Sports for their generous gift," said Dr. Scott Dalrymple, president of Columbia College. "With this gift, EA Sports has helped level the playing field in this competition, as I had become quite a force in Madden 25. It will be interesting to see how students adjust their strategies to keep up with the audible we just called."
At the Oct. 17 challenge, students will compete against each other for a chance to face Dalrymple in the championship round. If a student is able to defeat Dalrymple, he will personally pay for an entire academic year's worth of textbooks.
The challenge is open to Columbia College's approximately 30,000 students across the country. For students enrolled in the college's Nationwide and Online programs, a social media trash talk contest will be held, with two winners travelling to Columbia, Missouri, free of charge, to take part in the competition.
