Eagle Rivet Roofing Sets the Record Straight Regarding Lebanon, CT Roof Snow Removal
BLOOMFIELD, Conn., Feb. 25, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Recently, Eagle Rivet has received some unfavorable press related to snow removal services that we provided to the Town of Lebanon, beginning on January 31st. We regret having this play out in the media and would have been more than happy to go over the Town's concerns personally. You might have heard that Eagle Rivet had blindsided the Town of Lebanon with a bill over $300,000. All items on our final invoice were made explicitly clear to Mr. Jody Walsh, facility manager at Lebanon Public Schools prior to his agreement to proceed. The fact that the Town of Lebanon, and in particular superintendent of schools Janet Taylor, is claiming to be surprised by the final total is absolutely disingenuous. As with all of our projects we spend time covering cost, budget and work schedule from the very beginning. The very worst part is that instead of coming to us directly with their concerns we had the pleasure of finding out from the local media.
Not only did Eagle Rivet lay out an explicit budget and time frame, but on February 3rd, we met with Jody Walsh, Janet Tyler and two Board of Education members, at which time we reviewed the work progress and costs. When one board member brought up concerns about the price, Eagle requested confirmation that we should continue the project, but we were instructed to carry on and complete the work as agreed.
Several factors played into the amount of the final invoice delivered. First, Eagle Rivet had already been stretched thin across the state, providing snow removal and other services, when we received Lebanon's emergency call to remove snow from over 200,000 square feet of roof area on multiple levels at 3 schools. To complete the project in accordance to their schedule we had to bring in additional personnel, some of which were out-of-state. This meant we needed to provide room and board, travel costs as well as additional snow removal and safety equipment and insurance. The Town of Lebanon was made aware of these additional expenditures. The fee charged is well within market norms for the work we performed and the time frame we performed it in. We are one of the few fully licensed and insured roofing contractors in the state of Connecticut equipped and ready to perform extensive services of this type.
To be clear in our methods and prices and perform exactly as agreed, only to be vilified in the media is inaccurate to say the least. Eagle Rivet never has and never will take advantage of a customer and we stand by the fact we've conducted ourselves in the most professional manner possible. We've worked hard to establish our reputation over the past twenty five years. For more information on our company, roofing services and our policies reach out to us at www.EagleRivet.com.
