First, explain to children what going green means. Going green is doing things in a way that will benefit the environment. Next, give them simple everyday examples of going green to illustrate the meaning. Like, one way to go green is to recycle our garbage. You may choose to take things a step further and explain that our food waste is biodegradable, but many of the items we use are made out of materials that don't biodegrade as easily. And define biodegrading as breaking down and going back into the earth.

Leave out snacks for rabbits and groundhogs. Put up signs for drivers in your community to watch out for deer crossing the road.
