Earth Day Network and Zagwear Team Up to Help Launch Earth Day Network's Official Online Store
Sales of Eco-Friendly Products By Anvil Knitwear Benefit Earth Day Network's Year-Round Programs
NEW YORK, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Earth Day Network and Zagwear today announced their collaboration on the launch of Earth Day Network's official online store in advance of Earth Day's 40th anniversary celebration on April 22. Earth Day Network was founded by the organizers of the first Earth Day in 1970 to promote environmental citizenship and now encompasses more than 17,000 partners and organizations in 174 countries. Each year more than 1 billion people participate in Earth Day activities around the world.
The Earth Day Network collection by Anvil Knitwear includes a special-edition line of designed activewear and accessories featuring eco-friendly messages. The online store is designed and managed by Zagwear, which worked exclusively with Anvil Knitwear to merchandise the line. The collection of tees, sweatshirts and bags will allow consumers to wear their part this April and support Earth Day's message of environmental activism.
The Earth Day Network line uses products with earth-friendly inks from Anvil Knitwear's Eco Collection, including the AnvilSustainable™ and AnvilOrganic® tees, with items available for men, women and youths. Sales of the eco-friendly products will benefit Earth Day Network programs year round, including environmental education, green schools, climate change solutions, international partnerships and the organization's overall campaign to broaden the environmental movement.
"Zagwear is thrilled to be working with two great organizations, Earth Day Network and Anvil Knitwear, to launch the online store in anticipation for the 40th anniversary of Earth Day," said Judd Karofsky, President of Zagwear. "We look forward to continued support of Earth Day Network's programs through sales from the online store for years to come."
The special edition line of Earth Day Network products is available for purchase at www.earthdaynetworkstore.com. A selection from the line will also be sold at official Earth Day Network events in Washington, D.C. and New York City during the week of April 19, 2010.
