BOSTON, July 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Eaton Vance New York Municipal Bond Fund II (NYSE MKT: NYH) (the "Fund"), a closed-end management investment company, today announced the earnings of the Fund for the three and six-month periods ended March 31, 2014. The Fund's fiscal year ends on September 30, 2014.
For the three months ended March 31, 2014, the Fund had net investment income of $483,886 ($0.189 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $2,557 (equal to $0.001 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $481,329, or $0.188 per common share. The Fund's net investment income for the six months ended March 31, 2014 was $956,906 ($0.373 per common share, before deduction of the preferred share dividends totaling $0.003 per common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $0.370 per common share. In comparison, for the three months ended March 31, 2013, the Fund had net investment income of $450,035 ($0.175 per common share). From this amount, the Fund paid dividends on preferred shares of $5,473 (equal to $0.002 for each common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $444,562, or $0.173 per common share. The Fund's net investment income for the six months ended March 31, 2013 was $919,481 ($0.358 per common share, before deduction of the preferred share dividends totaling $0.006 per common share), resulting in net investment income after the preferred dividends of $0.352 per common share.
Net realized and unrealized gains for the three months ended March 31, 2014 were $1,289,876 ($0.508 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized gains for the six months ended March 31, 2014 were $1,023,056 ($0.404 per common share). In comparison, net realized and unrealized losses for the three months ended March 31, 2013 were $554,901 ($0.215 per common share). The Fund's net realized and unrealized losses for the six months ended March 31, 2013 were $717,452 ($0.278 per common share).
On March 31, 2014, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $32,870,236. The net asset value per common share on March 31, 2014 was $12.81 based on 2,566,941 common shares outstanding. In comparison, on March 31, 2013, net assets of the Fund applicable to common shares were $34,982,487. The net asset value per common share on March 31, 2013 was $13.63 based on 2,566,737 common shares outstanding.
