Edgartown Marine Boat Business Purchased by Island Family

EDGARTOWN, Mass., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Edgartown Marine today announced that George J. Rogers Jr. and Sheryl L. RothRogers acquired Edgartown Marine, Inc., and Edgartown Marine Boat Services from long time owners Tony Chianese and Maurice Dore.

Edgartown Marine operates a full service year round boat yard, and is one of the largest indoor and outdoor boat storage facilities on Martha's Vineyard, offering excellent certified marine repair mechanics and service personnel.  Mr. Chianese stated, "We looked long and hard for the right person to acquire our business.  We wanted someone that understood the unique character of the Island, and the select clientele that we have developed solid business relations with over the past decades."  

George Rogers and his wife Sheryl RothRogers are following a dream in returning to the island following corporate executive business experiences in finance and marketing.  Mr. Rogers was born and raised on Martha's Vineyard, and is a third generation islander.
