Edge-of-the-Seat International Bio-Warfare Thriller Available September 15
Paul McKellips' third novel, BOX 731, is a provocative, globe-racing bio-warfare thriller entangling readers in a complex Russian-Syrian terrorism plot
WASHINGTON, Sept. 3, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- FBR Press announced today author and award-winning filmmaker Paul McKellips will release his third novel, BOX 731, on September 15, 2013. The heroes of McKellips' acclaimed novels, UNCAGED and Jericho 3, return in this "what-if" page-turner that reveals intimate details of an international terrorist plot so realistic it curdles the blood. At the heart of the novel is an ethical quandary that emerges from the shocking and twisted discovery of human medical experimentation.
"The fictional plot of BOX 731 is a frighteningly real scenario that could strike at any time," said McKellips. "BOX 731 is plucked from real war crimes and atrocities of World War II and brought forward with larger-than-life heroic stories of biomedical researchers, scientists, diplomats and special operations soldiers who work behind-the-scenes to prevent both life from imitating art and history from repeating itself."
BOX 731 begins with a bang - literally. Sniper attacks on biomedical researchers trigger a Russian-Syrian bio-warfare plot that unleashes a horrific anthrax attack on the U.S. Meanwhile, Navy Captain "Camp" Campbell becomes entangled in the biological warfare with a cliffhanger discovery that unlocks hidden horrors of human medical experimentation. With his trademark grit and edgy plot, McKellips takes readers on an international thrill-ride that will open eyes long after the final page is turned.
McKellips joined the Foundation for Biomedical Research as executive vice president in 2007. He has written, directed and produced three motion pictures and numerous television shows as well as family programming with NFL Hall of Famer and former Green Bay Packers legend, the late Reggie White. McKellips directed and produced the Jonathan Winters Entertainment Show and the Pat Morita Show for SpectraVision. He has earned 20 Telly® Awards and 8 Emmy® nominations for his Bench to Bedside™ biomedical television series. A native of Neenah, Wisconsin, McKellips served in Iraq as a public affairs broadcaster and was embedded with four Iraqi journalists at a remote combat outpost in the volatile Diyala Province during the height of the "surge." At the invitation of General David H. Petraeus, McKellips served as a media trainer to the Afghan National Army and produced a documentary film in Pashto on Afghan culture that was broadcast nationally in Afghanistan in 2011. He is also the co-founder of No Greater Sacrifice, a charity that provides college scholarship money to the children of fallen and wounded U.S. soldiers.
McKellips' companion novels, UNCAGED and Jericho 3, received widespread critical acclaim and are available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other fine retailers.
BOX 731 is available for pre-order starting September 3rd. It will be released in hardcover, paperback and e-book on September 15th through Amazon and other book retailers.
