Edge Technologies CEO Selected for SmartCEO Magazine's Brava! Award
FAIRFAX, Va., Aug. 23, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Edge Technologies, Inc. today announced that Edge President and CEO Betsy Gorgei has been presented with Washington SmartCEO magazine's 2011 Washington Brava! Women Business Achievement Award. Edge Technologies is a leading software development company focused on core practices in Data Visualization, Information Integration, and Flex Consulting. The Brava! Awards recognize the contributions of 25 female business leaders in the Washington area.
The Annual Brava! Women Business Achievement Awards celebrate CEOs, founders, presidents, owners and executive directors who combine their irrepressible entrepreneurial spirit with a passion for giving back to the community across the Mid-Atlantic. These female CEOs have become exemplary leaders in their companies and the community by encouraging local philanthropy, mentoring fellow CEOs and setting their companies on the path to tremendous growth. Over 250 nominations were submitted throughout the Mid-Atlantic. A selection committee of area business leaders was tasked with choosing the top 25.
"I'm honored to be among the 2011 Brava! award winners," said Ms. Gorgei. "Each of the women in this group are truly inspiring, as business leaders and as individuals. It is sincerely flattering to be in their company. I hope that the Brava! awards provide the kind of recognition that inspires other women of all ages to dream big, to pursue their goals, and to realize that achieving balance in work, home and community service is not only possible, it is immensely rewarding."
"Ms. Gorgei exemplifies the spirit, vision and leadership that Brava! awards seek to recognize. We are honored to have her among this year's group of dynamic, passionate community leaders. The Brava! Award winners never cease to impress and inspire us," says Jaime Nespor, Group Publisher of SmartCEO magazine.
The 2011 Brava! Award honorees were profiled in the July 2011 issue of Washington SmartCEO magazine. Annually, SmartCEO shares their inspirational stories with over 15,000 local Washington CEO readers in the July issue and celebrates the group with a cocktail reception. Over 400 local CEOs and business leaders joined SmartCEO to recognize and applaud the 2011 Washington Brava! winners at the National Museum of Women in the Arts the evening of Wednesday, July 27.
