Edmission Launches EdviceNow to Provide College Admission Help via Live Chat
SAN RAMON, Calif., March 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Edmission, an education technology company, announced today the launch of EdviceNow – an on-demand live chat that connects students and parents to Edmission's college admission advisers.
Designed for busy students and parents, EdviceNow provides users with on-demand access to college admission advisers who offer advice that meets users' needs. Instead of scheduling for appointments, students can instantly start EdviceNow chats on Edmission's platform. From tailor-making high school course plan, to evaluating extracurricular activities and selecting colleges, Edmission's advisers offer unbiased advice to help students achieve their college admission goals. "High school students are incredibly busy these days; their schedules are filled with homework, tests, standardized exams, and extracurricular activities. Our goal is to provide the personalized and focused advice they need, in a most cost-effective and efficient manner," said Angela Choy, a certified college counselor, and co-founder and CEO of Edmission.
Edmission's primary mission is to create an advising experience that is personal, convenient, and productive. After signing up for an account, students can either build their admission profile, or go straight to the chat room. The admission profile builder is free for all users, while live chat advising service is $29.99 per month. Behind the live chat interface, there are student success officers and certified college counselors to answer students' questions and offer college admission advice. The chat function is also available via text messaging. "We want to reduce as many barriers as possible for students to get the timely college admission help they need," Angela said.
Edmission was started by three co-founders with one belief in mind – all students, regardless of their socioeconomic background, deserve the help they need to pursue higher education. The startup launched their college admission profile builder along with their recommendation engine in September, 2016. Shortly after the initial launch, the startup saw the opportunity to advance their personalized offering based on users' feedback.
