Educating the Next Generation of Wealth Managers

CHICAGO, March 5, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Envestnet, Inc. (NYSE: ENV) announces the launch of Envestnet Institute On Campus, an online educational program designed to provide college and university seniors with a broad knowledge base to launch their careers in the wealth management industry. The courses are offered through Envestnet Institute (http://www.envestnetinstitute.com), Envestnet's unified education portal for empowering registered financial professionals, and the program's curriculum has been approved by the Money Management Institute.

"With many financial advisors and other wealth management professionals on track to retire within the next 10 years, it is imperative to educate college seniors about the various career paths available to them in this field," said Ron Fiske, Managing Director, Events & Education, Envestnet. "Our industry-standard curriculum provides students with practical knowledge and training to jump-start their entry into the wealth management profession."

The eight-hour curriculum explores a wide variety of topics, including the history and evolution of managed solutions, best practices when transitioning an investor from a prospect to a client, the roles of financial advisors and fiduciaries, and technology and other tools advisors need to manage their practices. Upon completion of the program, students' resumes are placed in a database for Envestnet to share with its advisory clients and asset management partners. Envestnet Institute On Campus is open to business majors at four schools—Fairfield University, Bryant University, Mount St. Mary's University, and the University of Rhode Island—and will become available at other educational institutions on an ongoing basis.
