Educational and Safe? Eco-Friendly AND Award Winning Toys? You Bet!
WILMINGTON, Del., Feb. 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Every once in a while a company comes along with products and values that set them apart from their competitors. One such company is Wilmington, DE-based Rubbabu Inc. Rubbabu has made it their mission to create simple, classic, colorful and safe toys.
In the process, they have also garnered high-level awards from one of the most discriminating industries in the nation.
In 2010 alone, millions of toys were recalled from the marketplace including 10 million items from one company alone. Concerns ranging from high levels of lead to choking dangers prompted these recalls. Confusion surrounding various product lines often leave parents scrambling to find quality toys that are educational, eco-friendly and guaranteed safe.
"Unlike so many toys that are created from potentially harmful plastics and paints, we take a far more natural approach," says Rahul Butalia, the self-described "head flunky" of Rubbabu (www.rubbabu.com). "We also place an emphasis on ensuring our toys are simple yet educational."
When Rubbabu presents their products at the Toy Fair in New York City this weekend, the company will introduce a completely new line, with each individual item proven safe, both for the planet and for children. Toys making their "world debuts" include Rubbabu finger puppets, a set of six colorful characters which fit onto children's fingers or onto the back of pens and markers; a five-piece tool set with a workman's apron; and a set of swords and shields in various shapes, strong enough to hold form but soft and flexible so to ensure safe play.
"Toy Fair offers the ideal opportunity through which to introduce these products," says Butalia. "Our entire line, including the new releases, are available for purchase now through our website but later this month we will also introduce our products in boutique retailers and specialty toy stores from coast-to-coast."
With more than 200 children's toys in every color of the rainbow, the Rubbabu collection features everything from balls and action vehicles to building blocks and the award-winning magnetic upper-case letters. The line also includes animals on wheels and educational toys, such as puzzles and numbers.
According to Butalia, all Rubbabu products are all handmade, crafted from pure natural rubber foam obtained direct from the rubber tree. And by extracting the sap without cutting down trees, Rubbabu ensures the entire process is fully sustainable. The company is also particular about the sources from which it acquires its ingredients, purchasing raw materials from Switzerland (yes, you read that correctly), the UK, America and Malaysia.
Rubbabu foam toys avoid the infusion of potentially harmful synthetic fillers. The toys themselves are eco-friendly as the company has adopted the mission of being as close as possible to fully-green, with only 1.2 percent of their production cost funding energy usage.
"The response to our toy line, thus far, has been spectacular," adds Butalia. "Parents want toys that are safe for their kids and for the planet, and we are happy to bring just such a quality product to them."
