Edward Gregorowicz joins Avison Young in Washington, DC

Premier federal government leasing consultant becomes Principal

WASHINGTON, DC, Nov. 22, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Keith Lipton, Avison Young Principal and Managing Director of the company's Washington, DC region, announced today that top U.S. government real estate leasing consultant Edward (Ed) Gregorowicz has joined Avison Young's brokerage operations in the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area.

Effective immediately, Gregorowicz joins Avison Young as a Principal and will focus his efforts on federal government leasing activities. As a Principal, he will also play a key role in guiding the expansion of Avison Young services in the National Capital Region and other U.S. and Canadian markets.

Frances Kaklikian also joins as Client Services Coordinator and will work closely with Gregorowicz while overseeing the timely processing of government-related lease transactions. She formerly worked with Gregorowicz as his executive assistant. Both will be based in Avison Young's Tysons Corner, VA office.

For the past 17 years, Gregorowicz operated his own firm, focusing on General Services Administration (GSA) and federal government real estate transactions in the National Capital Region and around the U.S. Prior to launching his firm, he worked at Cotton, Day and Selfon and at the U.S. GSA. He served in a number of roles at GSA including acting as the Regional Counsel for GSA's National Capital Region.

Gregorowicz's practice over the years has focused on the acquisition, financing, administration and initial space alterations of more than 20 million square feet through leasing transactions with the U.S. government as a tenant. He has provided advice and consultation to clients on the federal procurement process, government lease administration issues, the acquisition and closing of financing for properties leased to the federal government; and has served as project manager for the supervision and management of tenant-related construction after leases were awarded to his clients.

Gregorowicz has also been active in the GSA's Automated Advanced Acquisition Program (AAAP), federal outleasing and bondable leasing programs, and has worked with clients to complete transactions that required specific knowledge of the federal acquisition regulations, and lease prospectus and scoring guidelines of the federal government.

Gregorowicz holds degrees from the Catholic University of America's Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC, and Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. He is also a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Virginia Bar, United States Supreme Court, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Court, U.S. Claims Court, U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and the American Bar Association. He has been active in his community as a youth softball and basketball coach, and founded the South County Cardinals Travel Fastpitch Softball Club - coaching girls aged 10 to 19 and successfully leading his teams to the PONY national championship tournament eight times.
