For those who are not familiar with the process, the IRS has instituted a multi-tier process to certify vendors as approved transmitters via the IRS ACA Information Returns (AIR) System. The process entails everything from creating IRS e-Service accounts, applying for test TCC's, obtaining digital certificates, and completing eight different test scenarios. Throughout this process, many would-be vendors have been forced to step-down as the technical requirements and the difficulty of the testing scenarios have proven more challenging than first anticipated.
