McKinnon, a 15-year veteran of the software industry, will report to Bill Rogers, Ektron founder and chief executive officer. McKinnon is responsible for Ektron's global operations and product development.

McKinnon joined Ektron in February 2012 as chief technology officer from Oracle/Endeca, where he served as CTO and led Endeca's eBusiness initiatives. Prior to Oracle/Endeca, Tim held the chief technologist role in the Digital Marketing Platform Group at Microsoft, where he led strategic development for Microsoft's search and web content management initiatives. He joined Microsoft via the acquisition of FAST Search and Transfer, where he spent 10 years in a variety of leadership roles, and helped to grow the business from 25 employees and no revenue to 1,000 employees and nearly $200 million in revenue. McKinnon holds an MBA from Babson College - Franklin W. Olin Graduate School of Business.
