Electronic Brokerage Veteran Joseph C. Lombard Joins Murphy & McGonigle Law Firm
Former Archipelago executive and aide to SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt to be partner in new technology-enabled law firm
WASHINGTON, Sept. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, the Murphy & McGonigle law firm announced that Joseph C. Lombard, a former Archipelago Holdings executive and market structure counsel to SEC Chairman Arthur Levitt, has joined the firm as a partner in its Washington, D.C. office. Lombard brings to the firm broad business, legal and policy experience with the U.S. equity and options markets, having served as the chief executive of an electronic brokerage firm, regulator, policy-maker, lawyer and board member. Lombard will add to the firm's already deep regulatory counseling expertise, joining among others Paul Merolla, former Instinet Group General Counsel. Lombard is also alumnus of the SEC's Division of Enforcement and an experienced enforcement defense counsel. He will work closely with the firm's SEC Enforcement Group led by veteran defense counsel Thomas J. McGonigle.
