SANTA CLARA, Calif., Aug. 24, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The ELFY GO Augmented Reality (AR) game is the latest addition to the Apollo Box iOS app. ELFY GO has players scroll through the Apollo Box website and scan images for special rewards, which can be redeemed directly from the app. ELFY GO was developed in partnership with Mage Inc.
Users open a separate browser and search the Apollo Box store for product images with two moving Apollo Cat logos in the top corners. After scanning the logos using the phone's camera, a 3D ball drops to reveal prizes ranging from a $1 coupon to an ELFY Smart Lamp. Coupons are automatically applied to the account for future purchases.
The app provides an AR experience with incentives to discover a variety of creative products on the Apollo Box website. "We are trying to bring the online shopping experience to the next level with 3D and AR technology," said Claire Chou, founder and CEO of Apollo Box. "We hope to lead the way towards the future of ecommerce with our technology."
Mage's AR content integration platform, Teleport, employs the concept of mixed reality, allowing products to be viewed virtually in any smartphone, according to Will Li, founder and CEO of Mage. "Everyday billions of people around the world are advertised and marketed products that spawn new questions. What does this really look like? How does this look in my room? Will I be unsatisfied and end up returning this purchase? We believe these are the types of questions AR can answer."
By bringing a new dimension to their customers' online shopping experience, Apollo Box has seen an increase in the time users spend in the app. "It takes a concept, online shopping with Pokémon GO, making it more interactive for the user," said Jordan Diamond, one of the first customers to try the ELFY GO game.
