FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., April 16, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Lanalee Sam, founder of Elite OB/GYN, celebrates her 10-year anniversary in East Fort Lauderdale by opening a second branch at Florida Medical Center, Lauderdale Lakes, FL. The West office, headed by Dr. Marielena Guerra, expands the practice's philosophy, offering a 360-degree view of women's health care and provides more convenient access off the Florida Turnpike for patients who travel from across South Florida for Elite OB/GYN services.
Dr. Guerra's specialty OB/GYN medicine is fostered in multi-cultural experiences; born in Cuba, lived in Venezuela, raised and earned her undergraduate degree in Miami, attended medical school in Dominica, and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology in Brooklyn and Manhattan, NY and Jacksonville, FL. She follows Dr. Sam into robotics surgery, providing less-invasive procedures, with minimal scaring and rehabilitation time. "We treat our patients with utmost care, respecting their time and needs, ensuring constantly that we truly care about them," says Dr. Guerra, "As women treating women, we empathize with their feelings and experiences and help them make educated decisions about health and medical care -- for them and their families."
Dr. Sam's philosophy is evident in the feminine, comfortable, pleasant setting of her offices and in her personal treatment of each patient. "My 'boutique' practice is the antithesis of what many women are unfortunately used to -- waiting, feeling rushed, and receiving impersonal, one-dimensional care," she states, "At Elite OB/GYN, we cater to women's total needs, creating relationships during the most miraculous time of their lives." Dr. Guerra and Dr. Sam share the sentiment that respect for a woman's time, body and emotions evokes trust and creates happy and empowered patients -- of any ethnic or cultural background.
Dr. Guerra is attracted to the strong Hispanic culture in South Florida, reaching out to the young women who can identify with her and to their mothers who will feel secure, knowing they and their daughters, who are entering a new phase of their life -- adolescence, adulthood or motherhood -- are safe and protected. "There are some different outlooks in our culture," explains Dr. Guerra who is bilingual in Spanish and English, "Mothers are protective, we understand, and we provide a level of care that coincides with that -- we are daughters too -- in a position to help mothers make transitions as well!"
