Elkhart Christian Academy Announces New Boys Basketball Coach
ELKHART, Ind., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Sherwin Simon, Athletic Director at Elkhart Christian Academy, is pleased to announce the hiring of Mr. Ryan Culp as the new boys varsity basketball coach. Culp will replace Drew Ryall after three seasons at the helm for the Eagles. He comes to ECA after serving as head boys varsity coach at Concord High School between 1999-2008 amassing a record of 118-81. Culp was also a member of Concord's state runner-up team of 1991.
Culp's other accomplishments include two Elkhart sectional titles (2004 & 2005), a Concord record tying seven consecutive winning seasons, a 36-game home win streak, one Northern Lakes Conference Coach of the Year Award (2005), and two Elkhart Truth Coach of the Year Awards (2003 & 2005). Culp is a licensed high school biology and wellness teacher at Concord High School.
ECA Athletic Director Sherwin Simon is excited to have someone with Culp's training and experience join our coaching staff to help advance our boys basketball program. Culp shared that the opportunity to serve a Christian school program is very appealing to him because of his desire to have an impact on kids for eternity. ECA Administrator Dr. Brian Dougherty believes Culp's personal faith and coaching philosophy are a perfect fit for the school. The Eagles open their season November 30 against Clinton Christian School.
