
MINNEAPOLIS, July 25, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Rocheport, Mo. resident Ellen Vaught has been awarded a $3,000 Loomer-Mortenson scholarship by the ACA International Education Foundation, the philanthropic arm of ACA International, the association of credit and collection professionals.

Vaught, a graduate of New Franklin High School in New Franklin, Mo. will study teaching at Columbia College. "Congratulations to Ellen as she continues her post-secondary studies and prepares for her future," said ACA Foundation Chair Chris Wunder.
The Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship is offered to college-bound credit and debt collection professionals and their dependent children. Three winners are selected each year from essays submitted by students, which are reviewed and scored by the Foundation's Board of Directors. Vaught's essay about the importance of financial literacy and money management earned her a first place finish.
