New Behavior Insights show pet parents the DNA behind the barking, the lunging and the 2 a.m. zoomies and pair it with a year of guided training built around their dog
BOSTON, Sept. 9, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Embark Veterinary Inc., the global leader in dog health and genetics, launched Behavior Insights & Training, a new feature that translates a dog's DNA into 15 genetic behavior insights and pairs them with one year of personalized, guided training.
Behavior Insights is built on the idea that a dog's quirks aren't random and can often be traced to genetic tendencies that shape how a dog reacts to the world. The new feature gives pet parents a glimpse into who their dog is and why they may be wary of new visitors, anxious when the keys jingle, or uncomfortable around other dogs. Rather than leaving pet parents to guess at generic breed advice, Embark shows why a dog may be predisposed to those behaviors, and pairs that insight with training guidance shaped around the dog you already love, quirks and all.
"Every dog owner knows the feeling of loving a dog whose habits don't fully make sense to them," said Amish Desai, Embark CEO. "Behavior Insights gives pet parents a genetic starting point for understanding those habits, so training feels less like guesswork and more like working with their dog's wiring instead of against it."
Behavior Insights, an in-app upgrade for Breed ID and Breed + Health customers, delivers 15 insights connecting a dog's genetics to predispositions like hyperactivity, separation anxiety, anxiety around unfamiliar objects or other dogs, and a tendency to feel easily overwhelmed. Alongside the insights, customers receive a year of guided training through a personalized plan rooted in their dog's behavior insights, created in partnership with Dogo. The program, accessible through the Embark app, is already used by more than 12 million dog parents, and more than 8 in 10 have seen behavior improvements within two weeks.
Behavior Insights are available as a $39 upgrade through the Embark app, and comes with a full year of Dogo at no cost. For more information, visit embarkvet.com/behaviors.
