Since receiving its Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) Supply Chain Certification in 2013, Emery Oleochemicals furthers its drive to provide renewable-based products with the recent commercialisation of RSPO Segregated (SG) fatty alcohol solutions. Centred on the company's aim to propel its customers' very own time-bound sustainability commitments, the Home and Personal Wellness business unit will offer SG certified specialty oleo derivatives through the EMERCOL™ series.
With applications ranging from co-emulsifiers to emollients to viscosity controllers to stabilisers and dispersants, products in the EMERCOL™ series promise to deliver performance and economic benefits. The EMERCOL™ series meet increasing sustainability demands in the making of personal care items including lotions, creams, make-up preparation and bases, deodorants and hair conditioners.

This capability is demonstrated by the integration of Sime Darby Plantation Sdn Bhd, the world's largest producer of certified sustainable palm and palm kernel oil; and one of the founding members of RSPO, and Emery Oleochemicals that enables access to stable supply of SG Certified Sustainable Palm Kernel Oil. With a combined supply chain proximity of 20kms from certified plantations to certified oleo products, this integration will enable consumer product manufacturers to extend their participation to transform the oleo derivatives industry towards being more sustainable.

Boosted by similar operations in Dusseldorf, Germany, also RSPO Supply Chain Certified, the company is positioned to meet both the sustainability and regulatory compliance requirements that include the Japanese Standards of Cosmetic Ingredients, pharmaceutical industry criteria set by the United States Pharmacopeia , National Formulary and European Pharmacopeia and are available in Halal and KOSHER Passover certified grades as well.
