Empire State Building and ColinCowieWeddings.com Present "The Wings of Love"
Submit Your Love Story to Win a Colin Cowie Dream Wedding Atop the Empire State Building on Valentine's Day
NEW YORK, Nov. 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ColinCowieWeddings.com, a revolutionary new planning site for the stylish online couple, is partnering with the Empire State Building for a nationwide contest, "The Wings of Love," that will identify four romantic couples who will each win a once-in-a-lifetime dream wedding designed by Colin Cowie. Celebrity wedding designer Colin Cowie, known for his glamorous celebrations across the globe will bring his signature wedding style to the Empire State Building when four lucky winners say "I do" at the glittering NYC landmark in an exclusive Valentine's Day wedding for up to 40 guests. And if that is not enough to make engaged couples want to race to the altar, one Grand Prize couple will win the chance to receive a $100,000 cash prize to kick off their married life in style.
The iconic Empire State Building, full of romance and history, hosts weddings only once a year on Valentine's Day, and this year ColinCowieWeddings.com takes the 18th annual event to new heights. Couples may enter from November 18 through December 9, at Facebook.com/colincowieweddings or www.esbnyc.com. Participants are asked to submit a short video, two minutes or less, about their unique love story, describing what makes their love soar, and why they should be chosen to be married, or renew their vows, at the Empire State Building. The contest is open to legal residents of all 50 states who are 21 years of age or older and the sponsors encourage all types of couples to enter.
Sixteen semi-finalists will be chosen by a panel of wedding and style experts from ColinCowieWeddings.com, the Empire State Building, Estee Lauder, Kleinfeld, home of TLC's "Say Yes To The Dress," and Christian Oth Studio based on their originality, style and connection to the world's most famous building. The semi-finalists will be announced on December 16, and then the public will vote on the final four winners, which will be announced on January 6, 2012.
As Cowie transforms the 61st floor of the Empire State Building into four luxurious ceremonies and receptions, the details like the brides' dresses, flowers and cakes will be decided by public voting on Facebook. To enhance the Colin Cowie dream wedding experience, each bride will be outfitted in a designer gown from Kleinfeld, with hair and make-up provided by Estee Lauder and grooms will be outfitted by Men's Wearhouse. All couples will be treated in first-class style with a two-night stay in Manhattan's exclusive Pierre Hotel where they will be primped and pampered with pre-wedding festivities by the ColinCowieWeddings.com team of editors, stylists and photographers in preparation for their magical celebration.
"For 80 years, the Empire State Building has enchanted lovers from around the world," said Melanie Maasch, Empire State Building Director of Brand Development and Public Relations. "From silver screen love scenes to sky-high proposals, the iconic Empire State Building continues to be the most romantic building in the world to celebrate the most romantic day of the year. We are so excited to partner with Colin Cowie who will undoubtedly provide an unforgettable, exclusive wedding experience for the couples."
On February 14, 2012, the chosen couples will each tie the knot in a private ceremony and reception with four unique looks, each topped off with Dom Perignon and Godiva Chocolatier. "The Empire State Building is one of the world's most dramatic and romantic landmarks, the perfect setting for high drama and glamour. I am thrilled to partner with them to bring four incredible couples a wedding experience that only dreams are made of," explains Colin Cowie.
ColinCowieWeddings.com is collaborating with some of Cowie's favorite go-to vendors to create an amazing experience with the Empire State Building for each couple, such as Mary Giuliani Catering & Events, Resource One, Inc., Grymes Cannon Designs and Premier Talent Entertainment.
The excitement continues after the "I Dos" when all four wedding albums are posted online the week of February 21, 2012, for one last vote to choose the couple who will get a chance to win $100,000 in cash. "A great way to start their life together," says Cowie.
