BEIJING, Dec. 22, 2016. /PRNewswire/ -- Lohas Tech, a Chinese start-up dedicated to applying biosensor technology to healthcare and wearables, will bring its BioRF™ artery radar to the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas during January 5-8, 2017.
BioRF™ artery radar is an innovative sensor to detect artery pulse wave, which offers a revolutionary solution to PWV (pulse wave velocity) and BP (blood pressure) trend monitoring, and will empower the next-generation wearables.
The soft antenna of BioRF™ developed by Lohas Tech, can closely track artery pulse with no pressure against the skin. The portable radar can easily measure pulse wave velocity (PWV), and can be used to detect arterial stiffness, or track blood pressure in a continuous, non-invasive manner, thus slashing the cost of traditional medical equipment, making medical checks on cardio vascular diseases more accessible to people and bringing mobile medical treatment into reality.
Lohas Tech will also showcase at CES several designs that integrate nimble and flexible BioRF™ into various devices that apply to a wide range of scenarios, such as clothing, weighing scales, and smart watch to enable the wrist device to track blood pressure, greatly stimulating imagination for the next-generation wearables and portable medical equipment.
BioRF™ is gradually entering the phase of mass production with several manufactures of wearable devices. After two years of technology development, these partnerships have laid the ground for potentially opening a huge market for medical applications of the artery radar.
LiangLiang Pulse Wave Smart Watch embedded with BioRF artery radar launched crowdfunding on JD.com last month and obtained supports and investments over USD25,670 from 2,043 participants.
"We hope that more and more potential partners will use our technology, so as to boost medical value for wearable devices, and help make life better for consumers," said Gamp Zhu, Lohas Tech's CEO and Founder, "now with sophisticated technology to capture the artery pulse data, we are going to focus on providing more powerful device of daily health management merging with physiological signal and artificial intelligence."
