Empyre Pro Series 200 Certified Under New York State Boiler Regulations

ARBORG, MB, July 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ - Pro-Fab Industries, North American leader in clean burning alternative energy heating systems, is pleased to announce the certification of the Empyre Pro Series 200 Outdoor Wood Boiler for sale in the State of New York. Pro-Fab Industries is one of only a handful of outdoor wood boiler manufacturers approved under New York's stringent new wood burning regulations. Besides adopting the maximum emission rates of 0.32 lb/mmbtu set out in the voluntary program for hydronic heaters by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), 6 NYCRR Part 247, effective April 15, 2011, added setback and stack height requirements for outdoor wood boilers.

Clean burning Empyre indoor and outdoor wood boiler models are well known in the State of New York. Empyre Pro Series 200 was one of the first hydronic heaters to meet EPA emission standards when the two phase voluntary program for hydronic wood heaters came into effect in 2008. Bypassing Phase I standards, the Empyre Pro Series 200 qualified for Phase II White Tag status on its first test. With emission rates of only 0.23 lb/mmbtu, Empyre Pro Series 200 are 90% cleaner than conventional outdoor wood boilers and use up to 50% less wood for the same heat output.

The Empyre Pro Series 200 achieves this clean burning efficiency by burning both the wood and the gases released from the wood in a fan controlled two stage downdraft gasification system.
