Encryptics Applauds White House's Cybersecurity Framework; Company's Input is Cited by Government During Development Phase
FRISCO, Texas, Feb. 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Encryptics, a provider of patented data privacy and protection software for businesses and government, today announced its support for the White House's "Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity," developed under the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) guidance in cooperation with other agencies and the private sector. Input provided by Encryptics during the Framework's development phase is specifically cited in the Treasury Department's "Report to the President on Cybersecurity Incentives."
Recognizing the threat of cyberterrorism to the country's increasingly interconnected critical infrastructure, the federal government saw a clear need for the recently announced Framework, which it describes as "a set of industry standards and best practices to help organizations manage cybersecurity risks." The Framework is designed to enable "organizations – regardless of size, degree of cybersecurity risk, or cybersecurity sophistication – to apply the principles and best practices of risk management to improving the security and resilience of critical infrastructure."
"At Encryptics we felt an obligation to contribute to this important effort and were gratified to see our input specifically cited by the government," said Mitch Scherr, Chief Executive Officer at Encryptics. "To offer counsel, we drew from our expertise in cybersecurity and our experience working with government agencies, healthcare providers, financial services firms and utilities, among others. The threats are growing in number and complexity; we believe it takes an innovative approach to successfully defeat them."
Encryptics provides critical data security solutions that customers can build into their current applications and processes. The solution is a proven, multi-layered security platform that has a patented methodology for protecting customers' most critical asset - their actual data - whether at rest, in use, or in transmission.
Encryptics' approach to ensuring data privacy and security is gaining momentum in the marketplace.
