With this hire, Energize further fortifies and formalizes its Endurance platform, a private equity strategy focused on investing in capital-light, middle-market software and services businesses advancing the energy transition.
CHICAGO, Sept. 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Energize Capital, a leading multi-stage investor in asset-light climate solutions, announced today the hiring of Alan Glass as Partner and Co-Head of Endurance, Energize's growth buyout investment strategy. Glass will co-lead the platform alongside the firm's existing Head of Endurance, Kevin Stevens.
Glass joins Energize from Vista Equity Partners, a prominent global private equity and investment firm that specializes in enterprise software, where he spent over seven years and was a senior member of Vista's Flagship Fund. Glass brings to Energize deep experience both sourcing and executing investments, working closely with management teams to drive strategic and operational value creation, growing and leading teams, and returning capital to shareholders.
"With Endurance, we are meeting a new wave of executives whose profitable, mature climate businesses are stepping up to tackle a generational shift in energy generation and demand. These companies have scaled thoughtfully and now require a specialist partner to help them take the next step," said John Tough, Managing Partner at Energize Capital. "Energize has always believed in matching deep domain knowledge with excellence in execution. By bringing Alan's experience from one of the world's most sophisticated private equity firms together with our team's existing experience in energy and industrials, we are accelerating our ability to identify and scale enduring companies that are foundational to the next chapter of the economy."
Energize Endurance is the firm's dedicated strategy focused on backing mature, digitally enabled climate solutions. Through Endurance, Energize makes both control and minority investments into companies, supporting them to sustain strong, profitable growth as they scale. This strategy builds upon Energize's five-year track record of investing in and helping scale later-stage companies, evolving from its Growth strategy to meet an expanding market of climate technology companies that increasingly value profitability and durability alongside growth.
The firm began formally investing under its Endurance platform in early 2025, including a significant investment in 5, a technology-enabled energy advisory firm that helps large commercial and industrial companies procure and manage their power mix.
"I'm thrilled to join Energize at such an exciting moment for the firm," said Glass. "The team has built incredible momentum through its differentiated industry expertise, relationships across the energy and industrials ecosystems, and strong track record of performance. Energize invests behind powerful and durable economic trends: rising demand, industrial digitization, electrification. This dedicated industry expertise, combined with Endurance's stage and style of investing, is unlike anything else in the market. I look forward to partnering with this stellar team to help build and scale the platform to reach its potential."
Glass will be based in Energize's Chicago headquarters. His hire follows the firm's recent announcement of its third Ventures fund, totaling $430 million between the fund and its related vehicles, underscoring Energize's continued expansion across both early- and later-stage investment strategies.
"At Energize, we put an enormous emphasis on culture," said Kevin Stevens, Energize Partner and Head of Endurance. "Alan brings not only world-class private equity experience, but also the mindset and mission-alignment that make him a natural fit to help grow our Endurance platform. His institutional perspective builds on our expanding team of PE professionals and complements my operator-investor background. This co-head structure will bolster our ability to be a best-in-class private equity strategy and strong partner to our companies for years to come."
