Energy Saving Improvements at Culver-Stockton College Include Telkonet's EcoSmart Energy Management Technology

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Telkonet, Inc., (OTCQB: TKOI), Telkonet, Inc., a leading developer of the EcoSmart Energy Management Platform featuring EcoCentral Virtual Engineer^TM, is pleased to announce the Company's EcoSmart Energy Management System has been installed in Culver-Stockton College's Johnson Hall.

In the United States, colleges and universities' energy consumption for lighting and heating is roughly 53% of their operating costs.  Therefore, reducing energy cost would provide higher education institutions an increased revenue stream to allocated funds to other educational, operating expenses.  The EcoSmart energy management system reduces energy consumption and equipment runtime by 20-40% - a tremendous cost savings.

Culver-Stockton College, a private institution located in Canton, MO, contracted with Energy Solutions Professionals, LLC (ESP) in November, 2013 to design and install $3.9 million of energy-solution improvements in various buildings on their campus that will allow the College to save $368,000 annually in utility costs.  The improvements included a new energy management system and controls – including Telkonet's EcoSmart technology.  Telkonet installed the EcoSmart suite of products in Johnson Hall, which will greatly reduce energy consumption and cost; while maintaining the students' comfort.
