MANITOWOC, Wis., May 23, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- energybank, a U.S. based manufacturer specializing in high-performance LED lighting and controls, was recognized as a First Place Winner of the Governor's New Product Award for Engineering Excellence.

The award was presented during the 39th Annual Governor's New Product Award (GNPA) event on May 18th, 2016 by Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers (WSPE) President John M. Parisi, P.E. and WSPE GNPA Chair Dale R. Swenson, P.E. Accepting the award for energybank was Founder and CEO Neal Verfuerth.

This is the second time Neal has won the top award from GNPA. His previous invention, an ultra-efficient, high-intensity fluorescent fixture won first place at the 35th GNPA event.

The model T exterior LED fixture was previously recognized as a Plant Engineering Product of the Year and received the Transformation Award of Excellence for Innovation from the U.S Green Building Council – Wisconsin Chapter.
