Enlightened's System Developed for DC Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Nominated for Excellence.gov Award

WASHINGTON, Feb. 21, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Enlightened, Inc., a leading Information Technology (IT) consulting firm delivering Cyber Security, System Integration, and Management Consulting solutions, announced today the nomination of the system they were contracted to develop for DC Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Case Initiation Project (CIP) for the twelfth annual Excellence.gov awards hosted by ACT-IAC.

Enlightened's system designed for DC Criminal Justice Coordinating Council Case Initiation Project (CIP) was nominated in the following category: Excellence in Intergovernmental Collaboration which is defined as: Programs that were designed and/or operated with close cooperation and coordination between different levels of government. Examples: social service programs that are funded and overseen by the Federal government but implemented by state and/or local governments; emergency response programs that require cooperation between various governments. The other nominees include: GeoCONOPS DHS, LOGIS, The National Broadband Map, and Defense Connect Online (DCO).

According to the event website, "The Excellence.gov Awards were started in 2001 by the American Council for Technology and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) to acknowledge and recognize government programs that use information technology (IT) to advance the business of government in an effective, efficient and innovative manner. Any government program that is operational and uses IT may submit a nomination. The nominations will be reviewed by a panel of judges with representatives from both government and industry. The winners will be announced at a luncheon in Washington, DC on March 13, 2012."  The Excellence.gov awards will be held Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at the JW Marriott, Washington, DC and you can purchase tickets on the ACT-IAC website.
