MIAMI, April 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Ensurge, Inc. (Trading Symbol: ESGI) is pleased to announce that it has begun a test recovery program in Guyana to determine the technical and economic feasibility of recovering gold, platinum, palladium and silver from tailings. The test recovery program is being conducted in association with the agreement reached earlier among Ensurge, GlobalMin Guyana, Mojave Gold Corp, and Correia Mining of Guyana.
The test recovery program is being conducted along the Mazaruni River at two sites owned and previously mined by Correia; Olive Creek and Putareng. The test is being conducted by using small scale commercial gold recovery equipment, capable of processing up to 15 tons per hour. Preliminary results indicate up to 90% recovery of the precious metals contained.
Jordan Estra, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ensurge said, "We know there are gold, platinum, palladium and silver present in the tailings left over from the mining of the alluvial deposits at Olive Creek and Putareng. What we don't know is precisely how much. Our efforts at sampling and assaying have returned inconsistent results, mainly, we believe, as a result of sampling a first derivative product of alluvial mining. The large bulk sample being provided by the current test, from at least twenty test pits among the tailings, should provide us an excellent and large sample of the material and provide great insights into the recoverability of the precious metals from the tailings. We have already demonstrated technical feasibility and now the focus is on economic feasibility. Testing will likely continue through the month of April. Following completion of the test, concentrates recovered will be assayed and analyzed and all the data collected will be analyzed, including data related to the cost of physical reclamation of the tailings and the cost of energy, labor and other inputs required to recover the precious metals. Once the economic feasibility study is completed we will be in a position to determine whether to move forward with a larger scale, commercial project in Guyana."
