MILWAUKEE, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Ellen DeGeneres isn't the only person launching her own record label these days. Rick Rand is also getting in on the action. This month the manufactured housing entrepreneur announced that he's launching a new label, Arrival Records, in conjunction with Scion/Fontana Distribution.
Rand a former music promoter, took a thirty-year hiatus from the entertainment business to start a property management and consulting firm. Comments Rand, "Now is a very exciting time in the world of music. Dramatic changes in how we acquire and listen to new music are taking place on a daily basis. Arrival Records is excited about these changes and will work to bring the listener new and easy opportunities to find the music they are looking for."
The label's first release, the Friday Night Lights Volume 2 Original Television Soundtrack, was released May 18 and is reflective of some of the most pivotal moments of the top rated show of the same name. The selection of music ranges from soulful to alt rock, and all of the songs included in the album have been or will be featured in the show. Reflecting the passion and emotion of the series, the soundtrack boasts a wide variety of artists and features some of the biggest breakout bands of the year, including White Rabbits, Band of Skulls, Jakob Dylan, the Avett Brothers and others. Rockers White Rabbits, whose song "Percussion Gun" is the lead single from the soundtrack, have just released a compelling music video which includes scenes from the new season.

Their self-titled debut is due Aug. 24 and you can hear their lead single, "My World," at: www.bascomhillmusic.com.
Following Bascom Hill, the label's next endeavor will be the soundtrack to NBC's critically acclaimed comedy-drama television series Parenthood, set to be released this September.
