Envirosystems' MATTA-LIFT® transforming catalyst changeout operations

DARTMOUTH, NS, March 15, 2017 /PRNewswire/ - One of Envirosystems newer technologies, MATTA-LIFT® (patent pending), continues to transform how traditional catalyst changeout operations are being conducted, as demonstrated on a recent project in the United States that exceeded expectations.

Envirosystems' MATTA-LIFT® is an innovative new technology used for catalyst changeout operations in the refining, chemical and petrochemical industries that enables a faster, safer and more cost-effective process for changeout, even under weather conditions that would typically lead to shut down of operations if a traditional crane-based approach were employed. A recent project completed in the United States saw the MATTA-LIFT® save nine shifts on the catalyst load, operating in wind conditions that would have shut down a crane for safety reasons, while preventing the catalyst material from getting wet during heavy rain. Had a crane been used, the loading would have taken an additional 4 ½ days. Regardless of the weather conditions, the MATTA-LIFT® would have saved 36 hours in comparison to traditional loading with a crane.

Third party dense loading machine loaded at, or above design capacity, 24 ton per hour, first time ever.
Third party dense loading machine never ran out of catalyst.
Project was performed with a single car on the second largest hydro treating reactor in North America.
Because of the MATTA-LIFT®, the dense loading machine was able to load four beds in an average of eight hours per bed. In the past, this took 12 to 14 hours per bed.

Clint Stewart of Mattawa Industrial Services, which operates the MATTA-LIFT®, stated, "We are actively scheduling projects for late 2017/ 2018 and we are building more units to meet our client's needs. However, we will have to schedule projects on a first come, first serve basis."
